You’re unlucky if you get struck but lightning. But when you get struck by lightning seven times like Roy Sullivan, you’ve entered into a whole new realm of unlucky. One time the lightning didn’t even hit him, it just toyed with him by striking nearby and setting the poor guy’s hair on fire.
It can be worse, though. Ann Hodges was actually struck by a meteor. Since it was during the Cold War, though, the police confiscated it. When they gave it back, they gave it to the landlord, not Hodges. Hodges had to pay $500 to get it back. Bummer.
