The photographer so hot he caught fire

We threw out a few warnings before the 4th of July regarding the dangers of fireworks, but really didn’t think we’d have to say anything regarding fire itself, particularly the kind that shoots out of the top of a mountain in liquid form.
Alas, photographer Kawika Singson will do anything for the perfect shot, including catching fire as in the above picture taken on July 4th.
Singson is an extreme hiker and landscape photographer based in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Over the years, he has photographed in countless locations all over the Big Island, often in locations that the general public would find very difficult to get to. He “has taken many risks to capture just the right shot to share with the rest of the world,” he says.
The interesting thing is that he wasn’t even taking a picture, just posing for a photograph, and that it was the first time his shoes have gone beyond the smoking phase.
The stunt was incredibly dangerous, seeing he was only standing on a thin layer of rock over the river of molten lava.
“I thought it would be pretty cool to take a lava pic with my shoes and tripod on fire,” he writes.
Funny, “cool” isn’t the word that comes to mind.
