Who applied to live on Mars?

Bas Landorp is a Dutch entrepreneur who has a project he calls Mars One that aims to send earthlings to Mars. He hopes that he can develop a permanent colony on Mars by 2023 at a cost of $6-billion.
He’s set a deadline for applications of August 31, and since that date is nearly upon us, he’s revealing some information about just who has applied. And here’s a snapshot:
- 165,000 applicants
- 140 countries
- 7,000 Canadians among applicants
- application fee ranges from $5 to $75
And most important point for me: it’s a one-way trip.
