Once a man had nothing but his tie and and cuff links to set him apart from the grubby masses, but these days, manly men of the bearded variety are showing off their chops (or handlebars, or French forks, or Imperials, etc.) with a flair rarely seen since either the Civil War or the seventies.
Photographer Greg Anderson was in the thick of things down at the New Orleans House of Blues for the 2013 National Beard and Moustache Championships to immortalize the effort to bring the beard to the level of fine art.
