Massive magma pockets discovered under Yellowstone [video]

That’s what researchers at the University of Utah discovered sitting under the shallow magma chamber that creates Yellowstone’s fiery geysers and colorful hot springs. Though the chance of an eruption each year remains steady at about 1 in 700,000, what this tells scientists is that the massive chamber below can refill the upper one, causing more volcanic material to be released over a shorter period of time.
