More incredible animals.

  • I am so happy there are videos around about what we should do with animals and then getting help from us. Thank you.

Their so smart. Among the best parents in the wild.

  • God bless this lady who helped the poor crow. It must have hurt badly. Many animals who are in awkward
    situations are not so lucky.

  • Bernard

Good thing they didn’t need to kaw in a doctor!

  • cute! thanks for helping our feathered friend =)

  • What’s the difference between a Mercedes Benz car and a porcupine?

A porcupine has the pr!kkks on the outside!

    Poor bird, glad it’s OK.

  • Great!… My neighbors saved a raven that was hurt a few years ago..They liked to feed the ravens and crows and racoons an everything else…When he got better he and his freinds flew over to my farm and ripped apart 29 goslings and ate them alive. In one day …It was a raven and crow feeding frenzy. When they came back for the rest I got a few with a shotgun….That darn big raven flew off with a chick still alive and I popped him with a Leupold VXL glassed .257 weatherby a about 400 yards away when He landed on the far edge of my feild. And the lesson is..When you handle wild animals they lose their fear of humans and then end up causing all kinds of problems… and get killed. Because of you…and my weatherby…

Awesome, that the Raven would allow her that close.

Finest kind of story. No stupid political or religious rants, just kindness to another living creature.

I remember the time I passed out and woke up with porcupine quills all over my face and ass and I asked a murder of crows for help…no dice. They may be smart and everything but I think they’re kind of a one way street and besides, if they’re so smart why couldn’t one of his own pull out the quills for him?

Beautiful. This is the real reason we are “at the top of the food chain”. So we can help those in need.. Furry, winged, scaly, whatever. This world would mean nothing to me without all of the gorgeous creatures in it. Bravo family… You rock my world. And for the care you gave that Raven, I love you. <3

  • Ravens are very smart birds(except for feeding off a dead porcupine) they are the only birds that will go towards a sound of a gunshot in search of a “gut pile” during hunting season. We had one that had a very large vocabulary (English) and even managed to imitate our various family members, and the ‘Ougga” horn of my brothers car whenever he saw a red car and imitated other animals sounds, including humans. He would even call our cats with ” here kitty, kitty”. Also have a very strong beak! Ouch ! He thought my brother was his dad or mom, he would cozy up to my brother, roll up his white eye membrane and allow my brother tickle , hold and stroke him….but only my brother! Also a very long lifed bird.

About 12 years back a friend was showing me his new 5 acre wooded lot he’d bought, he drove his truck down the lane and when we reached the clearing there were 2 ravens perched on a pile of logs. We were within 15 feet of them and they just sat there. We mentioned that it was very strange to get that close. He stopped the truck and we got out and then I noticed they’re feet were hooked together with a rapala fishing lure. They sat there until we cut the hook holding one of the birds and while we worked on the second, the first one sat a few feet away. When we removed the lure from the second they seamed to check each other over and then flew off. We were impressed by their calm and trust!

I read about Tigers in India that would get Porcupine quills in their legs and they would not be able to hunt regular game thus they became maneaters, because humans were much easier prey. The funny thing is that Panthers also liked porcupine, but they knew how to kill and eat them without getting ‘quilled’. The Tiger, not so much. In almost every case of a Tiger going rogue, it was because of an injury that would not heal or became infected and hobbled their ability to kill their natural prey. Broken teeth would also contribute to this tendency. Fascinating read by Maj. Jim Corbett, a Colonial Brit living in India, ‘The Maneaters of Kumaon’.

Sorry to spoil your fantasies, but the raven is clearly blind on her right eye, possibly due to infection. We can see that human tries to distract her from crow’s left side and crow sees well on the left. I am a bird lover and saved a lot of crows, pigeons, and they are my pets, living with me in my bedroom. I speak from experience.

They are also good for eating bugs andcleaning up roadkill.

  • Did you know that birds like ravens are very destructive. They will eat the pitch off of your roofs especially our roof they have destroyed here in Minnesota. It made it possible for our brand new roof to leak and for bats to get into our attic. The pecking was so loud that I thought we actually had rats running around in the attic and so we set rat traps in the crawl spaces. What was more terrifying were the hawks that followed them. The hawks tried to pick up a tiny Chihuahua in the neighborhood to fly off with him. Also a hawk did kill my neighbors pet duck that was swimming in its little pool. I adore animals but not the ones that kill other animals I love. I watch my Pomeranians and my roomies Chihuahua now for fear they will be taken off by the hawks.

It wasn’t a crow it was a raven. They are two different birds . . .

  • @Dabig Fubar…..Another republican redneck ahole whos judging the way nature works! One has nothing to do with the other, moron! Get a life, hick!

  • Aaron Ververs

When asked if it would have any future dealings with porcupines, the raven quipped (and we quote): “Nevermore.”

There were six of them. They got into the birthday party disguised as penguins. Did the whole goofy, waddle thing, let kids pet them, etc. I turned my back momentarily to pull a kid’s hand from the fishbowl. That’s when they struck. Total mayhem. We lost the cake and a good portion of Billy’s lego collection.
