The t-shirt that knows no language barrier
Posted by staff / April 21, 2016No matter how many languages you speak, there’s somewhere in the world where no one will understand a word you say, so what’s the most international way to communicate? Pictures.
That’s the idea behind the products of Iconspeak, inspired by a motorcycle ride through rural Vietnam that went awry.
As CNN explained:
…[George Horn and his colleagues Steven and Florian] came up with the idea of committing their translation tools to T-shirt.“It was a long process,” says Horn. “We started with a huge list of possible items and began testing a lot of prototypes.”The list was gradually whittled down, with every item carefully vetted for its potential to cause offense somewhere on the planet.
No worries about getting a signal or making sure your gadget is charged to use this translation tool, and it’s now available in t-shirts, totebags, and a variety of other products.
Just don’t spill anything on it that obscures a potential message.
