Excitement ran high back in 1986 when the city of Cleveland, Ohio attempted to break the world record for balloon releases.
The scene as 1,500,000 balloons took off over the city was certainly impressive, yet the end of the story Vimeo user Nathan Truesdell tells is a tragic one (and not just for Canadian wildlife).
Plus, they never made the Guinness Book of World Records.
