What makes a movie act

Plays are broken up into definable acts. In movies, we don’t get to see the act changes so it might not seem like there are any acts in movies. But there are, and this video examines how acts work in movies through the lens of The Avengers, which ostensibly has three acts. This video argues, however, that there are actually five acts in the film, and it shows you how redefining acts can help your writing.
