Toxic masculinity in Paul Thomas Anderson films

Toxic masculinity is one of the themes that pervades filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson’s movies. Take, for example, the two main characters in There Will Be Blood or the main character in Boogie Nights. Each other these men are “guilty” of toxic masculinity and the films are explorations of the effects of that kind of masculinity. The video explains in more detail.
