Push to allow Muslim girls to sport head-to-toe burkinis in UK

Schools in the UK are being told to allow young Muslim girls taking swimming lessons to sport special head-to-toe swim suits dubbed ‘burkinis’. The movement is the result of an increasingly large group of individuals who insist that contemporary swim suits are far too revealing. Those lobbying for the change say they want to encourage success through diversity, while the National Association of Head Teachers has dismissed the demands, stating that it would encourage segregation.

Stephen stated on mar 23rd that Christians went ‘berzerk’ and were the first against it so I’m speaking up for the majority that don’t follow the bad press of Christians :D. As a born-again Christian and a trainee-teacher I think these are an excellent idea. I’m in my first year of teacher training in a multi cultural school and I love the diversity, it’s not segregation. I went to swimming lessons with my class and some of the Muslim girls showed their discomfort in the standard swimsuit. So if this will allow more girls Muslim, or otherwise to feel more body confident and enjoy being in the water then I’m all for it. I’d have one just to prove the point of Modesty is Best! One that wants to cover up not be forced to.Lets promote a modest generation, one that wants to cover up for their own reasons, lets not slander it on the basis of religion or race! Its a choice.
