Woman injured by shotgun blast tries on prosthetic face for first time
Posted by staff / July 13, 2010This is truly amazing. Eleven years after an accidental shotgun blast left her without eyes, cheeks, or nose—Chrissy Steltz was finally able to remove the black cloth she’s been hiding under for over a decade and unveil her new face to friends and family. Her silicone prosthesis and blue acrylic eyes, created by Dr. Larry Over and maxillofacial prothestist David Trainer, look a lot like the old Chrissy, according to her loved ones, and culminate a year-long effort to give Steltz back her normal life.
