FDA unveils graphic cigarette warning labels
Posted by staff / November 10, 2010The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has rolled out the biggest change to tobacco marketing rules in 25 years, requiring cigarette companies to add graphic warning labels to packages highlighting the dangers of smoking.
Beginning on October 22, 2012, cigarettes sold in the U.S. will carry one of nine labels featuring text like “Smoking can kill you” and “Cigarettes cause cancer” and images of corpses, crying babies, and diseased lungs. The FDA has proposed 36 possible label options and will seek public opinion to narrow the selections down to the nine that will appear on cigarette packages.

What a bad design. It is like a 7 years old made it. Here in Brazil cigarette boxes have this kind of labels since many years ago. Last August, Anvisa showed the new imagens approved for the back of the boxes. http://www.anvisa.gov.br/divulga/noticias/2008/070808_imagens.htm
