Hyper realistic 3D portraits
Posted by staff / December 12, 2010Artist Bert Simons doesn’t just recreate his subjects, he digitizes them first. He’ll start by dotting his model’s face for reference. He then takes that data into his computer, reconstructs the face with Blender (an open-source 3D program), and reverts back to 2D. In 2D, he can flatten the texture, print it out, and put the hyper realistic portraits together like a puzzle. Amazing!
