Spiderweb-engulfed trees in Pakistan
Posted by staff / April 4, 2011In what looks like something out of a fairy tale, trees in areas of Pakistan affected by flooding have transformed into ghostlike cocoons. Millions of spiders trying to escape the rising waters have spun a massive network of webs encasing entire trees. While the sight of trees may cause a few cases of heebeejeebies, the webs have brought an unexpected benefit—trapping malaria-carrying mosquitoes swarming around standing waters.
