Worn out gadgets are pretty too
Posted by staff / May 6, 2011Even though we ooh and ahh about the beauty of our gadgets when they’re bright and shiny and new, that feeling quickly fades as soon as we encounter that dreaded first scratch. But according to Remy Labesque of Design Mind, there’s a certain beauty that even our most worn out devices exude. Scuffs and scratches serve as proof our gadgets are well-loved. The Japanese term ‘Wabi-sabi’ sums up this notion. Wabi-sabi is used to describe the aesthetically pleasing wear and tear of our beloved objects as they decay over time.
