Did you hear the one about the firefighter who climbed a tree to rescue a cat?

Well, astonishingly, he did… I say astonishingly because in my neck of the woods they don’t do this kind of thing anymore. Anyway, he did agree to do this as a favor, found that he also got stuck and the solution was … to call the fire department for help.
As the Washington Times says,
Thirty feet up, New York Police Department officer Dane Natto realized the rescue wasn’t going as planned. The scared cat kept climbing, and the officer got stuck.
“When the officer went up, the cat moved farther away from the trunk,” said one witness, quoted in The New York Post. “There was no way he could get it.”
Sadly for Officer Natto, there was a group of elementary students and teachers nearby, witnessing his antics.
“We looked out the window and we saw the cop inside the tree — sitting,” said Luna Giuong, in The [New York] Post. “His partner was laughing at him.”
They called the fire department and after much ribbing, Natto and the cat were rescued.
