Dog park installs big swimming pond, dogs go nuts [video]
Posted by Josh Taylor / August 6, 2016Anyone who owns a dog that likes to swim knows that dogs can go absolutely bananas when they get in some water. This dog park installed a pond for the pups, and resulting footage is awesome.
Full story at YouTube.
Never knew there were so many overweight female dog owners.
Fat men too .
this is sooo cool for the dogs!!!!
Back to the subject of Dogs …. our dog went nuts the first time we went to the beach. The wave rolled in, his feet got wet, he jumped back and started barking at the ocean. It really annoyed him lol ..
There is a dog video that leave zero doubt these dogs are having a great time, what a cool thing for that town to do!
It’s more like… Dog Owners go nuts
America is Fat, period. The average American woman weighs 166.2 pounds, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Men, you’re not looking too hot in this scenario either. Over the same time period you gained nearly 30 pounds, from 166.3 in the 60s to 195.5 today. .
I’m sure this was an overly crowded day, but the only thing that kinda made me sad was when the owner threw something out for his dog and his dog swam out to get it and the other dog beat him to it. The dog even tried to follow to get it from the other dog, but then gave up. I’m sure on regular days it will be fine. What a great idea.
Awesome place for the dogs to cool down and play with other dogs…..great idea
What is it with you people. You experts and egomaniacs have to turn a great article about love of dogs into a referendum on the state of America and its residents. Why don’t you just SHUT UP and take your comments to the proper platform and let the rest of us enjoy this brief interlude of peace and humor.
Love it!! A bunch of happy dogs!
Our dogs don’t care how much we weigh. They’re better people than most people.
Dogs bring people together. Less judgment, more enjoyment. People can get exercise playing with their dogs. I do and recommend it heartily.
Never mind any overweight owners, the dogs are happy. This pond is a good idea. I love to see happy animals.
awesome!
It’s wonderful to see a community that decides to dedicate their time, money and efforts for their human and canine residents enjoyment and happiness. Kudos!
However, I am appalled by some of the comments made – WTHeck is wrong with the persons who are making comments about “fat people” in the comments section of this video? Your comments are so wildly inappropriate for the subject matter of this video: a celebration of a community who decided to install a pond in a dog park for the enjoyment of their residents. Even if this was a video about healthy lifestyles and weight control, your comments would still be crude and just downright mean. I know-in this day and age of Facebook and Snapchat and “selfies” it’s sometimes hard for the socially inept and basically clueless (or perhaps more charitably-persons who may have been dropped on their heads as babies) to realize that just because a thought enters your tiny, judgmental little minds, doesn’t mean you should share It.
Self-editing is a wonderful habit that most mature, thoughtful and caring people do ALL OF THE TIME. Try it-you may find your life becoming more enjoyable-people actually liking to speak with you, co-workers not fleeing the lunchroom when you enter, etc
It’s a shame that so many of the people who comment on articles on the internet do so as an outlet for their negativity. This is an article about dogs enjoying a swimming pond, not just another opportunity to hurt someone’s feelings or take a shot at their religious, political, social views etc. How about staying on subject and maybe even trying to lift someone up for a change instead of always looking for a way to tear someone down. It’s no wonder the world is in the shape it is in.
Americans are also rude and shallow. For example, they will troll blog post then leave irrelevant comments in the hopes they will make someone feel bad. The American will not do this in real life, only as a spineless troll.
This is about a dog swimming area, not the obesity in the US. Lame brains!
For all of you people who want to decide to discuss the weight issue .Post a picture of yourself here. I love the dogs having so much fun and the owners just enjoying the day with their pets in a relaxing place with other dogs.So beautiful
Lots of FAT women. Women to men ratio, more women.. Hope they filter that water to keep it clean… Dogs having a blast..
Sadly, skin infections are a major problem in the dog parks here. The vets say this is a major source of their incomes. There isn’t anyway I’d take my dogs to a pond in Albuquerque.
Who cares what the owners look like. the point of the video is that their dogs are enjoying themselves in that pool.
Nice to see stolen taxpayer monies going to fund something for dogs for a change. All we usually see are overpriced soccer fields, etc. while a good percentage of the population have dogs and no kids. If all of it were privately funded – as it all should be – I could care less what gets built. Fortunate dogs in the area for sure.
Dogs and people having fun…AMEN…
It’s funny how dogs have no problem swimming in dirty pond water but hate baths.
BEFORE YOU JUDGE SOMEONE ELSE, MAKE SURE YOU’RE PERFECT.
it’s amazing how fast an article of dogs having a great time in a pond turns into something totally different stick with the article which by the way is awesome wish we had it in NY
amazing how a great article of dogs having fun in a pond turned into something totally different from what it was supposed to be can’t we just stay with the article and leave everything else alone
Holy cow…..I didn’t even notice the people, just the dogs having a great time.
Looks like the dogs were having a great time. The person filming was moving the camera around so much and so fast I got dizzy and had to stop watching.
I wish my dog liked the water, he bathes fine. but rain or ocean NO go…
Wow that’s some weird comments. Anyways I wish they would build this dog park where I live. That be so awesome!!!
The dogs are having a great time! Not everyone can be skinny!!!
Where is the kitty playground? Equality for felines!
WALLY, why leave a reply with a concern for the water but preclude it with a knock to woman. I’d like to see what you look like.
The dog pond isn’t the only thing attracting animals. Build a comment section (no matter how benign and innocent) and trolls will gather. All the fat remarks prove this comment section is no different. Filthy trolls. The biggest difference between the animals in the pond and the animals in the comment section are that the animals in the pond are happy.
my dog would love it. he would be right in the middle of it. We need more dog parks. Where I live the nearest dog park is about 45 miles away
A bunch of fat people watching there dogs exercise
What happens when the Alligators arrive ?
this was a post about dogs having fun.It was not about narrow minded people who have nothing better to do than pick on someone who doesn’t fit into their view of the perfect person. If you have nothing good to say, Keep your FAT mouth shut.
I thought it was a “pool” so when I saw all the dirt being kicked up I was so disappointed they weren’t playing in clean water. Now they are all muddy and if they tried to drink it they’d get a nasty surprise. I know this is what happens when you take your dog out in nature, but again, if you are going to build a “pool”, then do it right!
Do the homeless people of the world have a swimming pool? The working poor wage slave Metro riders? Oh, NO NO NO! Good for the dogs, who BURDEN the labor force of a CLIMATE AFFLICTED world- and GREAT for the water tables of Flint Michigan and flood zones EVERYWHERE. RIghtie pig DOG PRIVELEGE – how PRECIOUS!
We used to hold “Doggie Birthday Parties” at this lake for about 15-20 dogs. They all LOVED it ! Not a tussle amongst them. Then they would have Birthday cake and all !!! What fun ! One year, one slick dog snuck up to the food table while all the others were swimming…..do I need to say more ???
I live here and this off leash dog park is very well maintained by the city through donations from the public. The new swimming pond is filtered. There is even a smaller swimming area for smaller dogs, there is also an area specific to small dogs, several great walking paths, bag kiosks, shaded patio covers with benches and picnic tables, and water fountains for both dogs and their human companions. This is a smaller community of 90K about 35min from Boise, Idaho.
I had to watch the video a second time to catch all the fat women comments. Stupid me, I was focused entirely on the joy of the dogs.
The dogs are awesome but the cameraman is making me dizzy.
