This has got to be the food quote of the century: Waffle House is “better than the French Laundry.” And you can tell by the look on Anthony Bourdain’s face that, in this moment, he really means it.

there food is the freshest in the industry . they do such a large turnover that it is constantly replenished with new fresh supplies. It has been like that for years about time someone in the press recognizes this.
Where has he been? in friggen prison? Everybody but him apparently knows that the Waffle house is a safe haven for the after midnight drinking crowd and has been for over 50 years. You can tell this guy doesn’t have any working class finesse if he hasn’t been turned on to Waffle house by now. He ain’t one of us that’s for sure.
Waffle House is the unpretentious heart of the South. You can eat well for about $5., and there is a true friendship amongst the regulars with the staff. Everybody should have their own particular Waffle House to go to.
