Finally, research reveals ideal belly button size!
Posted by staff / August 27, 2014File this under “Things to make women more paranoid,” but only if you’re insecure enough to care. (We’ll tell you right now, though, that if a partner whips out a ruler when they first lay eyes on your belly button, make a run for it; if that’s not a deal-breaker, we don’t know what is.)
According to the Daily Mail:
Surgeons at the University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, whose research was published in ASJ, analyzed images of 37 Playboy Playmates (really) to assess the ideal length, shape and position of the navel.
With the help of a computerized tool called an ‘Aesthetic Analyzer’, they established that a perfect belly button has a ratio of 46:54, and a midline horizontal position.
The ideal length is 5 percent of the length from the lower breastbone to the lower part of the vulvar cleft, and the ‘hood,’ or flap, is very small.
Are the editors of Playboy really that concerned with belly buttons, though? We always assumed it was the articles they were most concerned with, but, then again, you learn something every day.
Ladies, we have no doubt you can find a willing surgeon to take care of this for you, but we highly recommend pretty much any other investment for that chunk of change.
