Gig tips from the great Thelonious Monk

In a genre as creative as jazz, standing out like the great pianist Thelonious Monk is saying something. Who better, then, to turn to for advice on doing a gig?
Saxophonist Steve Lacy took notes from the talented Monk back in 1960, which fortunately survived to inspire musicians today.
