What happened to the Library of Alexandria?

You might have heard of the Library of Alexandria in your history class, but you probably haven’t thought of it much since then. So if you need a refresher, the Library of Alexandria was essentially a massive ancient library with tons of ancient wisdom. Unfortunately, the most of the contents of the library was lost to a conflagration in the first century BCE. But exactly how that fire started is something of a debate among historians.
