The history of hobo signs

Google Maps is handy for finding gas stations and coffee shops, but back in the Great Depression (and future zombie apocalypse scenarios), those who hit the roads were in search of things not shown on a typical map.
To help guide fellow travelers, the language of hobo signs was born.
