The incredibly weird lives of xenophyophores, giant single-celled ocean dwellers

This living creature — which can’t be classified as animal, mineral, or fungus — skirts the rules of single-celldom by containing many nuclei rather than a few. Did we mention they can grow to be twenty centimeters in diameter? And live in houses made of their own poop?
