Just buy it: My trip to Nike headquarters
Posted by staff / November 15, 2010Visiting Nike headquarters in Oregon is one of the things I love to do. Dare I say that I find it a very enchanting place? Here are some photos from a recent visit.
First stop: Nike store. My shopping cart started like this.
Have you heard the phrase “kid in a candy store”?
Loading up on shoes. In total, I bought four pairs.
At the checkout counter.
How could I resist buying this for my son?
Next stop: Tiger Woods Center for a speech.
This is how lunch is served at Nike: on a basketball court!
This is Joe Torre talking to the group.
Me and Joe.
Next stop was the advanced shoe-research area. This is a picture of Michael Jordan. It’s one continuous line that never overlaps.
Office area.
These guys have a mini factory to ensure that designs can be made on a large scale.
If you want shoe laces, this is the place to come.
There’s a Winnebago in the office as a tribute to the old days when Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight sold shoes out of one.
This is the other side of the Winnebago—in other words, it’s part of a conference room now.
The conference room table has a Winnebago read end under it.
The space has a track to study the running motion.
My buddy Tinker Hatfield. He runs (no pun intended) this research area.
I’ll change transmission to rear end. Good catch!
