For more than 20 years, National Geographic archaeology fellow Dr. Fredrik Hiebert has traveled the world, leading excavations and making discoveries. Some of Hiebert’s most notable achievements include his work along ancient Silk Road sites in Asia, rediscovery of the lost Bactrian gold in Afghanistan, and his underwater archaeology projects in the Black Sea and Lake Titicaca.
