Before & after looks at color grading in the movies [video]

What a difference color can make, and that’s especially true when you get to see the dramatic impact of color grading on a finished film product.
Using clips from the independent film, The House on Pine Street, Taylre Jones of the Kansas City-based Grade shows us the stark contrast between what comes out of the camera and what we see on the screen, including several different versions of the same shot.
It’s a fascinating look behind the curtain of the industry and makes us feel a wee bit better about looking washed out in the mirror every morning.
