Lost 600-year-old sword turns up in Texas
Posted by staff / July 3, 2017The medieval Italian broadsword — dubbed the Harriet Dean sword — disappeared in the 1940s, while its twin held a hallowed spot in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, so you can imagine the shock of arms and armour specialist Howard Dixon spotted it in a small picture.
Until that moment, says Dixon, ‘no one knew where it had gone, and the trail had gone cold.’
