How machine learning works

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are all the rage in the tech rags lately. If you are confused about about what machine learning is or how it works, then this excellent CGP Grey video is for you. Using some helpful (and simple) animations, he explains that machine learning basically works like this. There are “teacher bots” and “builder bots.” Builder bots makes algorithms, and teacher bot tests those algorithms. Most of the algorithms fail, so they go back to the builder bot to be rebuilt. Those that pass move on and are improved. It may lack the nuance of a tech journal, but it’s helpful to have a basic understanding.
