Man hits Bitcoin jackpot by forgetting he owned them
Posted by staff / October 29, 2013 currencyNorwegian kronerIt was 2009 when Kristoffer Koch threw the $27 equivalent of Norwegian kroner bitcoin’s way after reading about the currency for a thesis. He then promptly forgot about an investment equal to a week’s worth of pricey coffee, and it might be the luckiest bit of forgetting ever done.
Imagine his surprise when the currency began to hit the news earlier this year, prompting him to figure out his password only to find a jackpot of $886,000 waiting in his electronic wallet.
With any luck, his investment of half his earnings into an apartment in one of Oslo’s swankier areas will pay off as handsomely in the end.
Darn shame “Luck of the Norwegians” doesn’t have the same ring to it.
