Once upon a time, boys and girls, fake news was pretty darned obvious, and our favorite source was The Onion.
These days, shameless copycats and those who fail to recognize the apparently fine line between humor and real journalism have made a mockery of the mockery, but for those in the know, The Onion is still dishing up the good stuff.
Here’s a roundup of their finest work in the field of fake — as in not real, fictional, stuff that did not happen — photojournalism in 2016.
