PTSD and the long-haul trucker

An interesting read from The Atlantic about long-haul trucking and mental health. A few factoids:

there are about 3.5 million truck drivers in the US
about one third of them will be involved in a serious accident at some point during their driving career
that’s about one million people who could suffer from PTSD
truckers, due to the very nature of their jobs, have a hard time accessing mental health care

A good and worthwhile read and one that ultimately impacts nearly all of us.
