How to spot a depressed cat
Posted by staff / September 2, 2017We have enough trouble spotting depression in our own species, so it will come as no surprise not everyone can see it in a cat.
Generally, feline depression indicates another health problem, so it’s good to head to the vet if you notice these symptoms in Sir Fluffy von Catnip III.
Sad cats.
Love this vid. Keep educating us on the mysterious Cat!
It’s good to know what to look for but what would be even more helpful is some ways to combat the depression. Wish you had discussed that as well.
Good reminder that what may seem a behavior problem (doing business outside litter box) may mean something else. The video mentioned only briefly at the beginning that what they are calling depression may be an indicator of a physical problem. I can attest to the fact that not playing, being more aloof than usual, and behavior changes in general may be an indicator of a physical ailment (illness or injury).
