Take a tour of the off-limit zones of a WWII battleship [video]

There are WWII battleship museums on lots of navy bases and in lots of harbors around the country. But no matter how many you’ve been on, you’ve never see these parts the boat.
Full story at Adam the Woo.
a BATTLESHIP is not a BOAT….A BOAT IS A “SUB-MARINE ” ! IN NAVY LANGUAGE. NEVER TELL A SAILOR THAT HE IS ON A BOAT…..THAT SERVED ON A “SURFACE VESSEL
While looking at the machined names of crew members onboard during VJ-Day; When the docent says “VJ-Day” and “Adam the Woo” says, “when do you think that was ?” Seriously, how stupid does that make you look. Some people are so out of touch with history that you should be ashamed of yourself for saying that.
Outstanding Tour. Loved every minute of it. I’ve landed my H-46 on the Iowa. Had a Helo Spot on the wooden deck aft, near the aft gun. Even then I realized how historic it was. The Ships deck is low to the water so landing a Helo created a lot of spray and when you were on deck you were nearly on the water if felt. Amazing. Thanks.
you can put a BOAT on a SHIP, but not a SHIP on a BOAT — US NAVY 71-75 served on the USS Denebola AF-56
Actually a sub is a “boat” and you can’t put that on a “ship”, but I get your gist:-).
Enjoyed this video very much. I was able to walk the mothballed decks of IOWA in 1974 when she was still in the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. My carrier, Franklin D. Roosevelt was in dry dock for a few months there for repairs. We could only walk the main deck, but it still was an impressive sight. Still remember it vividly!
Bill, look up Glomar Explorer, a plan to put the sub on a ship . . and then look at all the little subs on exploration ships . . . so submarines can go on ships. But ships cannot go on boats. USS IOWA is not a boat.
Ok you got me on a technicality
A “boat” can be carried aboard a “ship” and not vice versa
Adam Woo is a disgrace. A complete IDIOT
Adam you are very slow and ignorant, why did you get to do the tour. You do not deserve it
Alfred
Yes there is that distinction between those who are “Surface Warriors” who served on a “Ship”,
and those who are “Sewer Pipe Sailors” who served on a “Boat”.
Boys, don’t be so rough on Adam Woo. Hees just an ignorant civilian who wouldn’t know the
difference between a “Boat” and a “Ship” other than if he had seen “Das Boot” or read about the
“Good Ship LollyPop”.
