How to tell if a singer is lip syncing

Since the Milli Vanilli fiasco, most everyone is aware that many singers lip sync during live performances––although usually they’re lip syncing to their own tracks. Iron Maiden once famously refused to do so, as a matter of fact. But the fact that many singers lip sync is no problem, but it is a challenge sometimes to tell when singers are doing so and when they are not. This video gives you a few sure-fire ways to tell if they are, for example, if you can’t see their vocal chords straining, they’re probably not singing.
