The business-minded folks at Fortune have compiled a list of the fifty smartest people in tech. Landing a spot among the exclusive fifty requires more than bulky brain power and a big bank account; the list gives points for basic intelligence, but also takes into consideration impact and vision.

Fortune broke down the list into ten categories, selecting a top choice for each.
