The biggest spider fossil ever has been found

The biggest (and scariest) spider fossil ever has been discovered. The new species has been named Nephila jurassica, and it’s two inches by two inches in size (not quite as big as the on featured above). It was found in a fossil-rich rock formation in Northeastern China. The fossil dates back to the Middle Jurassic—or 165 million years ago—which is leading scientists to believe that the Nephila genus is 130 million years older than they previously thought.
