Getting fed up with muzak Christmas carols, shopping commercials, and all the other phony trappings of the holiday season? Cut through the myth and folklore of the holiday season with this incredible podcast episode from The History of Rome that details the history of Christmas.
On a personal note, I love this podcast, and I’ve been listening to it for the past year or so. It’s pretty long (179 episodes, varying from 10 minutes to an hour), so it’s kind of a commitment. But if you do a lot of driving or traveling, it helps time fly by. I highly recommend it. If you’re not interested in Rome, the same guy is currently doing a podcast on important Revolutions in world history.
