Thousands of Oakland students to go hungry due to budget cuts

In Oakland, California, thousands of students get a hot meal at the end of the day. Or at least, they used to. According to the school district, budget constraints led the school board to vote to eliminate the free meals. Oakland school sports programs were also on the chopping block, but the an anonymous donor and the Oakland Raiders gave enough money to save sports. So football will still happen, which is nice.
