Why was the American Revolution so revolutionary?
Posted by staff / October 7, 2010What makes the American Revolution stand out in world history? Was it the introduction of guerilla warfare or its stage outside the borders of its parent nation?
All of those were noteworthy, but the real revolution was in something else. What made the American Revolution so revolutionary, however, was that it didn’t involve regime change, but the creation of an entirely new nation and the adoption of a democracy by that nation.
