What would happen if you set off a nuke in the Marianas Trench? That may sound like the premise of a silly sci-fi movie on the order of, say, The Core, but this video takes a scientific look at the question. It examines what would happen if the largest nuclear bomb ever built, the Tsar Bomba, was detonated in the Marianas Trench. While that same bomb on the surface would kill everything within a 600-square mile zone, that deep under the sea it wouldn’t do much. The video explains why.
