New omicron case linked to New York anime convention

A second US omicron case has been linked to an anime convention in New York.
Although the chief medical officer of Moderna has warned that omicron is a very concerning variant and that the Moderna vaccine may be less effective, the WHO has said that there’s no evidence the vaccine is less effective and that most cases of the variant are mild.
The Canadian government has confirmed two cases of the new omicron variant. Pfizer is already testing the efficacy of its vaccine against the new variant.
According to WHO data, COVID transmission is reduced by 40% among the vaccinated. And, coincidentally, seven doctors just got COVID at, of all places, an anti-vaccine summit.
Starting December 15, any member of the US Army who has not been vaccinated will be denied promotions and reenlistment.
Like San Francisco and New York, Los Angeles has enacted a vaccine mandate, but LA’s is much stricter. Most types of businesses and public buildings are covered by the mandate.
Hospitalizations due to COVID are on the rise in Colorado, but there are only 100 ICU beds left in the entire state. CDC data reveals that the risk of dying of COVID is 11 times higher for unvaccinated adults.
Major hospital systems in Ohio are requiring COVID vaccines for organ transplants, adding to the increasing number of organizations that require vaccines.
Southwest has recently become the latest airline to require vaccines, joining an ever-growing number of organizations doing so. In fact, nearly ever major airline is now requiring vaccines for employees.
