There’s a rising Red Tide, but it’s not washing up on Trump beach. A group of more than two dozen form GOP congresspeople have formed a group called “Republicans for Biden,” signaling a wider discontent with Trump from within the GOP. Furthermore, and perhaps more significantly in the long term, Arizona is on the verge of turning entirely blue––we’re not talking just Trump here, but also Congress.

Very recently, an anonymous Trump official who wrote a devastating op-ed against Trump has spoken up again, this time to encourage voters to get Trump out of office.

It’s bad enough that his own officials are turning against Trump, but Florida retirees are also turning on him. They don’t want to vote Democrat, and they are still very anti-abortion, but Trump’s flaws outweigh those two drives.

Influential Republicans have already turned their backs on President Trump. Former President George W. Bush and Senator Mitt Romney have publicly refused to support Trump’s re-election. Jeb Bush is unsure of how he will vote. Cindy McCain, John McCain’s widow, is almost certainly going to vote for Biden.  Colin Powell, who served under both Bushes and Reagan, said that he will vote for Joe Biden. This exodus of influential Republicans may for the party to do some major soul searching.

Republicans know that to maintain the Senate they need to appeal to college grads and women in the suburbs. But Trump is only focusing on his base, causing extreme anxiety that the GOP will lose the Senate in 2020. And, as a recent article from the Atlantic argues, we’re witnessing the end of the Trump regime.

Trump’s approval rating is slipping among Christians, which used to be among his most solid blocs. The New York Times reveals that evangelicals are abandoning him at a slow trickle, while a PRRI and SSRS poll reveals that support among Catholics has plummeted a whopping 23%.

Polls in key states show that older voters, one of Trump’s key blocs, are switching their allegiance to Joe Biden. Recent polls have also shown the majority of voters in key swing states disapprove of Trump’s COVID response. Those states, Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, are key swing states and recent polls have also indicated that Biden is more popular among voters.

Former President George W. Bush, for example, released a statement that contrasts starkly with Trump’s response. Mike Mullen, Trump’s former Chief of Staff, has also condemned Trump in an Atlantic Op-Ed. Alaska’s Republican Senator agreed with Mattis and admitted she may not vote for Trump in 2020.
