Anyone who has dated seriously for awhile knows how important a healthy childhood is. Most of our relational insecurities come from the way in which we were raised. Attachment theory helps explain the origins of those issues. If one is unstable in their attachments––afraid to make connections or to commit––they likely had childhood characterized by weak or problematic attachment with their parents. If one is stable, then the opposite is true. This video goes into more detail.
