The police chief for the U.S. Capitol has argued for additional law enforcement presence through Biden’s State of the Union, warning of far right-militia plots to blow the building up.

Members of a far-right militia group called the Oath Keepers have been arrested for their role in the Capitol riots. The group prepared before the riots, including training in military-style tactics.

Last week, five people linked with the jingoistic Proud Boys group were arrested on conspiracy charges for the the Capitol riots. Two Virginia police officers have been suspended after being charged with participating in the January 6 Capitol riots. Sergeant Thomas Robertson and Officer Jacob Fracker, officers with Rocky Mount Police Department in Virginia were arrested after photographs appeared of them in the Capitol.

Garret Miller of Texas, one of the Capitol rioters, has been charged with threatening to assassinate progressive darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The infamous “Zip Tie Guy,” meaning the guy who brought zip ties to the Capitol riots, had a stash of weapons at his home––including a sniper rifle.

Among the other ding-dongs arrested:a 22-year-old Pennsylvania woman, allegedly one of the Capitol rioters, planned to steal a laptop from Nancy Pelosi’s office and then sell it to Russian Intelligence.

The Confederate Flag man photographed at the Capitol has been arrested, as well as the man who threw a fire extinguisher at police.

U.S. acting Attorney Michael Sherwin has said that 70 people have already been charged with the Capitol riots, and the FBI has opened 160 more (so far).

Two Capitol police have been suspended and another arrested for their conduct during the recent riots, and another 10-15 are under investigation. One of the suspended officers went viral for taking selfies with rioters.
