Everyone (but Trump) in Washington increasingly angry at Russian cyber attack
Posted by Robert Leonard / December 21, 2020Incoming President Joe Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, says that Biden’s response will go beyond simple sanctions, and might include retaliatory cyber attacks. In some ways, it is stunning that it has taken so long for Washington to take the Russian threat seriously. But in other ways, it makes sense, considering the strange relationship between Trump and Russia.
What is scary about this news is that Russia is targeting Joe Biden and trying to help Trump win the election, and Trump’s response was, “I don’t care.”
If you think QAnon conspiracy theory seems so toxic that it must have been intentionally created or amplified as a kind of Web 2.0 warfare against the United States, but didn’t have the evidence to back that up, well here you go. A recent Reuters article reveals that Russian-linked Twitter accounts helped the movement grow. Now, tech companies of all sort are trying to grapple with the conspiracy.
