Mumbai citizens clean up beach with 2.7m pounds of trash

In fact, it has much more than a bit of a trash problem––this beach was littered with a jaw-dropping 2.7 million pounds of garbage. The city, state, and national governments were not doing anything to help clean up the trash. So local citizens took the job upon themselves. They created a massive chat group with hundreds of people, and the beach cleanup has become a daily effort.
