Walgreens pharmacist refuses miscarriage meds over ethical beliefs

Pharmacists are allowed to refuse to dispense medicine to patients if that medicine violates their ethical beliefs. However, if a pharmacist wishes to do so, he or she must make arrangements so that the patient can be served his or her medicines in a timely manner. That’s the crux of this news story. A Walgreens pharmacist did not make timely arrangements for a woman who needed medicine to aid in the miscarriage of her deceased fetus. The woman was forced to leave the store in tears and then drive to another pharmacy twenty minutes away the next day.
